Why it matters locally

Farm safety investment is relevant across all farm types, including dairy, beef, sheep and mixed farms in the Kilmacthomas, Comeragh and wider Waterford area. Eligible investments can support safer working conditions around livestock, machinery, handling facilities and farmyards.

Nutrient storage is also a practical issue for many farms, particularly where slurry and soiled water storage capacity, environmental compliance and farmyard management are being reviewed. Farmers should check their own application status and speak with their advisor where they need clarification.
