Waterford City and County Council has confirmed that numerous community groups across the Kilmacthomas area are among the successful applicants for the Local Enhancement Programme 2026.
The programme, which provides capital funding for community projects, will distribute €219,286.41 across Waterford City and County. The funding is designed to support projects that are essential for many small community groups and organisations, particularly those serving rural and disadvantaged areas.
Nationally, the scheme will support over 4,100 individual projects with a total fund of €7 million, as announced by Minister Jerry Buttimer and Minister Dara Calleary.

Many community organisations across rural Waterford—including villages such as Kilmacthomas, Bunmahon, Kilrossanty, Portlaw and neighbouring areas—will receive funding. The grants will be used for essential upgrades, including:
* Minor renovations to community buildings
* Purchase of essential equipment for the maintenance of public areas
* IT equipment to enable groups to conduct their business
Waterford City and County Council's Community Grants Team will be contacting all successful applicants directly over the coming days.
